My Approach
Vulnerability and shame are often at the core of most mental health issues. Without proper attention or treatment, these core issues can manifest into more significant problems such as anxiety, depression, or addictive/self-destructive behaviors. If your sense of self is fragile and the personal narrative you’ve created about who you are is self-deprecating, it’s difficult to feel fulfilled, connected, or joyful.
My goal as your therapist is to help you feel safe and comfortable so you can explore and evolve into living and being the best version of yourself.
How Will I Do This?
There is not a one size fits all to my therapeutic approach; upon meeting I will individualize your treatment based on any or all of the following modalities:

The Daring Way
The Daring Way - based on the research of Dr. Brene Brown, the work focuses on courage building, shame resilience, and uncovering the power of vulnerability.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
A specific type of cognitive-behavioral therapy based on the research of Dr Marsha Linehan; DBT teaches 4 main skills: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Emotion Regulation.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
A therapy developed by Dr. Aaron Beck, CBT teaches how to modify the way you think in order to improve the way you cope

Solution Focused Therapy
A goal-directed collaborative approach to change that focuses on what you want to achieve by focusing on present strengths.
Daring greatly means the courage to be vulnerable. It means to show up and be seen. To ask for what you need. To talk about how you're feeling. To have the hard conversations.

Things to Consider:
- It’s helpful to have a goal or two in mind as you begin. Goals can change or be added, but it’s good to have a place to start.
- Be familiar with the insurance coverage you have, if any, and what it will cover, both in and out of network.
- Are you ready to work? Therapy isn’t always easy; it requires thought, reflection, and effort.
- You need to try on different perceptions or experiment with behavioral changes before they stick. This can take time.
Getting Started:
Choosing to see a therapist is a big decision. It’s the moment you decide:
- You need or want help.
- You can no longer manage the situation as effectively as you’d like to.
- You’re feeling stuck and want to move forward.
